Divine word Trust, is part of the Society of the Divine Word which is involved in several educational, charitable and religious activities for many years in India.The centre accommodates four staff members and a maximum of sixty students (Seminarians). They all do their U.G degree in Loyola College, Chennai. The Seminarians come from all over India and therefore it is a multicultural and linguistic Community. Since, this is a major Seminary,and the students are would be priests after their studies and training, the centre caters to their physical and spiritual development and overall growth, in the areas of physical wellbeing, intellectual excellence, personal maturity, social awareness and spiritual growth. All the activities are well planned and geared toward achieving our goal.
1. To impart education in consonance with the Catholic principle, belief and faith, and to equip the students with moral character and to lay emphasis on character building so as to enable them to discharge their obligations towards the Society and the entire community.
2. To carry or social, medical and educational programs.
3. To maintain and run hostels for boarder students who are undergoing training courses at the institute.
4. To institute scholarships, grants, prizes and rewards for encouraging deserving students and offer inducements to students carrying on research in the subject of interest and allied lines.
5. To establish and maintain library and reading rooms for the use of the students and arrange for circulation and publication of books and journals, bulletins, pamphlets, etc.
6. To attain the above objects, the institution may take over, mange or administer and also conduct, develop, expand and improve such institutions which have objects of this institution on terms and conditions as may be decided by the Managing Committee.
7. To allow any of the Institution’s buildings, assets or premises to be run by other Institutions on terms and conditions as may be decided by the Managing Committee.
8. To support students for their faculty and higher academic studies in schools, colleges and institutions and anywhere else and to give material and moral help, assistance to deserving and needy students.
9. To take over and run parish, social service centre to promote the objects of the trust
